The conversational tone and very personal reflections of the reviewer made it feel as though she were directing her comments only to me, rather than the wider world of the internet. Her unvarnished opinions, together with the rating system of smiley faces, makes plain the relative merit of each title considered. Never mean-spirited, the author of these reviews doles out criticism and praise in an even-handed manner, so that even poorly written books get a fair shake. It was a real pleasure to have the author of these reviews share her thoughts with me and to help me find good books I might never have encountered otherwise.

Sorry. I’d let the blog sit idle for quite some time, but I’m back at it. No Christmas books this year, but maybe I’ll do that again next year.
